The Vivaldi Project: Discovering the Classical String Trio

Music Carolina is excited to present The Vivaldi Project, an acclaimed Washington D.C. period instrument ensemble whose playing has been described as “superb” by both Strings and Fanfare magazines.

Following upon the critical acclaim for their recent CD, Discovering the Classical String Trio, vol. 1, The Vivaldi Project brings to life another set of richly varied, yet overlooked classical string trios in the intimate setting of Kulynych Auditorium. The program includes selections from works by both lesser-known composers such as C. A. Campioni, Ignaz Klauseck, F. J. Gossec, J.B. Breval, and Alessandro Rolla, as well as the more familiar names of J.C. Bach and Haydn.

“All three players of The Vivaldi Project – Field, Nyquist, and Vial – played with extraordinary mastery of style and marvelous control of intonation. The kaleidoscopic breath of string color and tone was a constant pleasure” – Classical Voice of North Carolina, 6/10/17 (full review of recent tour concert here).
