Julie Kinn (Vocals, Bodhrán, Irish Whistle) and Josh Kinn (Vocals, Guitar, Octave Mandolin) are best known as the husband-wife duo Kinnfolk. Since 2018, the pair have played at festivals and listening rooms across Canada and the United States. In 2023 Kinnfolk won the Robinson Emerging Artist Showcase, earning them a Main Stage appearance at Canada’s premiere Celtic event, the Goderich Celtic Roots Festival. They have been featured on the cover of the largest traditional music magazine in the world- Irish Music Magazine-and named one of the top Celtic folk bands to watch in 2025 by The Irish & Celtic Music Podcast. In 2022, Kinnfolk received a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to create a body of work exploring the history, geography, and folk legends of their town. Katherine Wiley (Fiddle) is a versatile performer as both a classical violinist and Celtic fiddler. As a member of the Celtic/early music group Boar’s Head Consort, she won first place in the Baltimore Chamber Music Competition and performed extensively throughout the Baltimore-Washington D.C. area. Katherine also played fiddle in the Irish band Keltia, the Cambridge, Massachusetts Revels production, and has earned numerous awards in Scottish fiddling competitions. Currently, she is a member of the Winston-Salem Symphony and performs as a fiddler throughout the region. David Scheim (Celtic Harp, Piano) studied classical piano, music theory and composition growing up in New York City. After earning a doctorate in math from M.I.T., he became immersed in Celtic music and co-founded the Washington, DC-area band King David’s Harp. He taught and performed at the Augusta Heritage Center Irish Week and played piano with Karen Ashbrook and Sue Richards on the album Hills of Erin. He has also recorded with fiddler Bonnie Rideout, hammered dulcimer player Maggie Sansone, and on the Smithsonian Folk Ways album Lisa Null: Legacies. David lives in Blacksburg, VA, and is active in the Celtic music scene of Southwest Virginia.

Geoffrey Sauer (Scottish Pipes, Uillean Pipes) has been studying the art of piping for 20 years, and has performed for audiences all over the world-ranging from a Virginia theme park to the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, the largest international show in the world hosted by Edinburgh Castle. He founded and teaches at the Appalachian Piping Academy in Roanoke, VA and is grateful to share his joy of piping and Scottish music with you today.
