Beethoven, Bacharach and Brubeck

We are looking forward to sharing exciting and inspiring musical discoveries this summer.  Exceptional programs include “Time Out”, featuring the tunes from Dave Brubeck Quartet’s iconic 1959 album of the same name (which most notably introduced “Take Five”). We will have love songs performed by soprano Jodi Burns and baritone Thao Nguyen. Vocalist Martha Bassett will perform a tribute to Burt Bacharach with SummerFest regulars Federico Pivetta, piano; Matt Kendrick, bass; Ken Wilmot, trumpet and John Wilson, drums. Our free performance of “Peter and the Wolf” with wind quintet and narrator Jason McKinney will return to SECCA, and The Lyricosa Quartet will perform a program that includes Haydn and Beethoven. We conclude with a piano performance by the brilliant Russian pianist Dmitri Vorobiev.
